Hello everyone, welcome to my website! This is just a little about me!
In 2013, I played my first concerto performance, showcasing some Rossini with the North Tyneside YouthChamber Orchestra, and in the same year auditioned for the Royal Northern College of Music. I was very lucky I was accepted at the RNCM where I studied for six amazing years. I met some amazing people who I have stayed friends with and also had some incredible experiences with top class orchestras.
I completed my Bachelor of Music with Honours in 2018 with Chris Swann, Lynsey Marsh and Antonio Salguero, then I decided to do further study at the RNCM and completed my MMus (postgraduate) at the same place. This time with more teachers and more orchestras.
I was fortunate around this time (in 2019/2020) that I played with the BBC Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata and the Manchester Concert Orchestra – playing a variety of music with the best musicians.
I then studied in Valencia, Spain, in 2021-2022 with the incredible Vicent Alberola and Juanlu Puelles – changing my style and playing completely.
Afterwards, I went on tour to Bordeaux, France, to play with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe (as part of their Academy project). I had lessons from Richard Hosford, the principal clarinet of the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
After a brief hiatus of travelling and finding my feet in Newcastle, I have now settled into a full time teaching role with ample playing opportunities. I have had experience working alongside amazing orchestras around the North East, including work with Royal Northern Sinfonia, founding member of Kainos Orchestra, and performing in venues such as the Lit and Phil and O2 City Hall.
I am incredibly blessed to be so busy with teaching at the moment (currently in Whitley Bay High School, Longbenton High School and St Thomas More RC Academy) but please do get in touch should you wish to have lessons with me, privately or in school. Clarinet is my passion and I want to teach that to as many people as possible.
